Gestalt and Society
RADICAL RULES
RAD group was born from the merger of two previous companies: Lobae design and Funky Fresh Factory, which in turn consisted of 2 elements each. Today we are 4 partners, perfectly complementary. The reason for our merger was to overturn the visual perception of our entities towards our customers.
As Werthemeir explains, "perception does not depend on elements but on their structuring into an 'organised whole', into a 'Gestalt' (usually translated as 'form', 'structure', 'pattern')."
We are particularly interested in explaining our fusion with the first law of Gestalt by using a bit of Kandinsky.
The law of proximity states that "elements are united into forms with the greater cohesion the closer they are to each other".
This is our equation:
Bianca is a set of points, Alessio is a set of points
Bianca and Alessio are two lines
Matteo is a set of points, Davide is a set of points
Matthew and David are two lines
Bianca, Alessio, Davide and Matteo are now a surface.
If in 1920 it was important for society to draw up rules of visual perception, today we must remember to follow them. The rules are the same, and the real 'creativity' that does not exist for us lies in applying these rules to the decision to found a new society.
Today we are a square. A stable solid by definition.
It took us six years to realise that to change in the eyes of others, we simply had to change our position in space. After all, by founding groups at a very young age, you grow with them. We have changed again and are so fond of change that we have made it our core business.
That is why our fixed number is mobile.
